About the role: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer this position will play a crucial role in enabling organisational compliance and support the maturation of the super fund’s risk frameworks. Whilst working with senior stakeholders across the business. The successful person will have a key focus on developing and leading a large and high-performing team across the Enablement, Transformation and Performance (ETP) teams within the fund. Job Description: The role is an exceptional opportunity for a senior risk and compliance leader with deep experience across financial services and superannuation operations. You will be empowered to lead a Line 1 risk and compliance team covering the finance, technology, strategy, investment operations and transformation business units while partnering closely with Line 2 to deliver and support the ETP teams within the fund. A diverse role that delivers oversight of risk and compliance to the business by providing commercially sound compliance and risk advice while challenging stakeholders to push the boundaries within risk guidelines to meet the strategy and vision of the executive leadership team. Key responsibilities: Embed 3 lines of accountability into the ETP business units in line with Aware's risk management framework. Deliver risk and compliance frameworks and strategies for the business in collaboration with Line 2. Collaborate with the regulatory, legal and broader compliance teams and drive positive change outcomes. Accountable for the end-to-end management of relevant compliance strategies, policies, and procedures. Deliver advice and support on control design in line with the control SOP. Be the fund’s superannuation risk & compliance Subject Matter Expert (SME) and support project risk assessments. Build, develop, and lead a high-performing team. Coach and develop risk SME and understanding across all internal ETP stakeholders. Partner with the senior and executive leadership team and liaise with the board delivering board reports and papers. Offer advice and leadership to the team regarding compliance and help develop an effective compliance culture. Excellent ability to build rapport and partner with internal stakeholders. Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: Tertiary education, preferably with specialisation in finance, business, project management, risk and compliance management or law. A deep background in superannuation or funds management is a must. Exceptional leadership abilities and strong influencing capabilities to drive outcomes and change initiatives. Strong project management skills and experience in delivering outcomes and continuous improvement initiatives preferred. Previous experience as a Head of Risk and Compliance is highly regarded. Comfortable with advising senior executives and presenting to the board on strategic decisions.
