Veolia is looking for an experienced Head of Communications to deliver our brand ambition of Ecological Transformation as a parental leave cover for 14 months. In this highly visible position, you will develop and deliver compelling, on-brand messages to our stakeholders: media, customers, employees, partners, industry, and government. Working closely with senior management including our CEO, you will build and preserve the Global Veolia brand, representing Veolia as a trusted expert voice when it comes to tackling environmental challenges. This role plays a pivotal part in driving Veolia’s key messages to market, by sharing the positive impact we make on the environment every day. What's on offer Impactful strategic role, with plenty of opportunity to propose creative solutions Fast-paced and varied opportunity with a strong and established team High visibility with close working relationship with Executive Team members What you'll be responsible for Develop and foster relationships with key journalists across mainstream media and industry publications; Articulate a clear position for the brand on key environmental issues to support consistent in-market messaging, positioning Veolia as a Voice of Influence in market; Guide strategy to improve social media performance & other forms of digital communication to market; Manage press outreach, including press releases, creation of press kits and materials, interview preparation, and responses to media requests; Oversee critical employee communications, and embedding the #weareresourcers mindset and brand values across the organisation; Ensure that key organisational messages are delivered in a timely way, through the right channels and with the employee experience in mind; Lead and inspire the Communications team and broader business around our Purpose of Ecological Transformation. What you'll need to be successful 10-15 years of professional experience, including leading communications, social media, and public relations activities of a high-growth organisation; Demonstrated success in leading a high-performing communications team, in a highly complex global organisation (ideally within the Environmental Services / Utilities Sector); Demonstrated ability to successfully influence Senior Stakeholders (including CEO, Executive Leadership team members, Community Groups, and Political Organisations) to achieve optimum business outcomes; Demonstrated experience in Managing Crisis Media communications and Group Media relations; Experience in managing or influencing Internal communications strategy and performance.
