We drive stronger growth, behind innovation and investments. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a CI (Consumer Insights) Senior Manager to join our team. This role will be based in Sydney, directly reporting to the Vice President of Market Australia and New Zealand. Position Overview: The Head of Consumer Insights ANZ will lead the research and insights function for Shark Ninja’s ANZ operations, ensuring that the voice of the customer is embedded across all levels of decision-making. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand strategy, customer experiences, and marketing efforts by leveraging both qualitative and quantitative research to understand consumer behaviour, preferences, and trends. You will work closely with marketing, product development, and sales teams to ensure our strategies are consumer-centric and resonate with local markets. Here are some of the EXCITING things you will get to do: Annual Research Planning: Develop a comprehensive market research plan to support business goals and sales targets. Identify local research needs for products with unique ANZ consumer requirements. Research Design: Define appropriate respondent criteria for target audiences. Research Execution: Create screeners, questionnaires, and discussion guides to gather relevant insights. Conduct surveys, in-depth interviews, and focus groups. Use internal networks to recruit participants when needed. Data Analysis / Reporting: Aggregate quantitative data and analyse qualitative insights. Write reports with clear, data-backed narratives. Provide actionable recommendations and strategic insights for future steps. Interpret insights to assess product success potential and report to APAC HQ. Coach and guide team members to develop their skills. Teach effective interviewing techniques and how to write clear, actionable reports. Budget Control / Monitoring: Negotiate with agencies to optimize research costs. Build in-house research capabilities within the ANZ CI team. Use existing data and resources to reduce research costs. Monitor research spending to stay within the annual budget. Enhance the success rate of new products by consolidating target sales data and systematising relevant research insights for each product. Drive sales growth for existing products by implementing a structured and frequent consumer feedback system, including monthly analysis and in-depth evaluation of in-market sales data (GFK/POS) in correlation with past research findings. Experience: At least 8 years of hands-on experience in marketing research, including work on the agency side. A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, international studies, or a related field. A strong understanding of consumer behaviour and preferences in Australia and New Zealand. Experience mentoring and developing junior market research professionals for over 3 years. Previous experience in the FMCG or durable goods sectors is preferred. Solid expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including validation and exploratory studies. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to write clear, logical reports and provide insightful, chronological interpretations across multiple projects. Strong communication skills, capable of professionally engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines. A balanced approach to both objectivity and creativity, with an ability to zoom in on details while maintaining a broader perspective. A strong passion for learning about products and consumer behaviour.
