Job Description

A global leader in the agrochemicals industry is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to lead the Agricultural Sales division by managing and developing a high-performing sales team and sales-related functions, providing regular feedback the country manager and stakeholders, with the aim to drive business growth in South Africa. POSITION INFO : Minimum requirements for the role : Must have a tertiary qualification in Business Management Minimum 10 years’ business experience, with extensive leadership background in high-level management positions will be required for this role Must have an in-depth understanding of the industry's market dynamics Solid financial expertise and comprehension of business strategy are important Must be well-versed in crop protection products, including fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides Good communication skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, will be required Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel on a national basis The successful candidate will be responsible for : Developing and monitoring annual budgets, selling costs, and sales forecasts to achieve sales budgets while maintaining transparency in selling cost and closing any sales gaps. Implementing distributor and agent contracts, managing forecasts, products on the ground, etc. Creating strategic sales plans to align with marketing efforts and achieve budget goals while developing pricing strategies to maintain ROI and margins. Managing loyalty programs with customers and ensuring timely payments while minimizing outstanding balances. Planning and implementing sales operation activities such as farmer days, product launches, and crop campaigns on time. Collaborating with the commercial excellence team on strategies for the successful execution of sales activities. Ensuring compliance with business ethics internally and externally along the value chain. Collaborating with the financial controller, supply chain, technical & marketing management teams to keep them informed of sales activities. Aligning all sales activities with parent product & brand strategy standards while promoting the use of CRM / Salesforce programs for driving business success. Managing the sales team's set-out standard, ensuring clarity on expectations and goals for sustainable ROI and budget achievement. Utilizing effective leadership and management principles to motivate, skill, drive, and focus the sales team and agents on meeting set-out budgets. Fostering a high-performance culture through continuous feedback, individual development plans, coaching culture for all team members to maximize efficiency and job satisfaction.
