Sarina State High School is looking for a passionate Head of Department, Student Services to join our leadership team. This role is offered on a temporary part-time basis, at 0.50 FTE from 22 April 2025 until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined.The role will carry a teaching load in addition to the 0.5 FTE HOD load upon negotiation. Our Year 12 academic outcomes exceed the state average in both ATAR and QCE attainment.We value the contribution of every staff member in our team and we are committed to the well-being of staff and students in our school community.About The Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide leadership and guidance for the implementation of innovative measures aimed at improving student learning outcomes and attendance in schools where a significant percentage of students may have a disadvantaged background, ensuring quality learning outcomes for all students. Where requested, prepare all data returns for the Principal. Provide management and engagement strategies including induction activities of new arrivals, and advise on specific academic, social, and emotional needs of new arrivals. Monitor students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
