Exciting opportunity for a hands-on Head of Engineering to join a fast-moving, innovative SaaS company. 17th February, 2025 About the Company Our client is a dynamic and agile SaaS-based transport management system that bridges the gap between transport companies and shippers, including major retailers. The company has grown rapidly under private equity ownership. With a growing international team, they are poised for an exciting new phase of growth and innovation. About the Role As the Head of Engineering, you will report directly to the CTO and play a pivotal role in scaling the engineering function to support rapid product and sales growth. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will: Mentor and manage a team of Engineers, Integration Specialists and QAs while collaborating with offshore teams. Drive product development, oversee platform replatforming and modernisation efforts, and ensure effective delivery across multiple projects. Work closely with the GM, product, and support teams to prioritise work, articulate technical and product roadmaps, and optimise team performance. Balance technical involvement, including solution design and architecture guidance, with leadership responsibilities. Benefits Competitive Remuneration: Base salary up to $230K AUD + annual bonus. Skills and Experience Experienced software engineering leader with a strong SaaS background, particularly in data-driven platforms. .NET experience is preferred. Hands-on and delivery-focused leadership style with the ability to mentor and inspire teams. Familiarity with cloud and dedicated infrastructure setups. Strong written and verbal communication skills for team management and presenting to the board. Beneficial Skills: Exposure to SaaS, logistics (TMS/WMS), or technology-focused businesses. Experience with monolithic/large applications. Exposure to hosting on legacy environments. Experience scaling teams and processes to support growth.
