The Opportunity The Head of Financing & Reform is a pivotal Senior Management role, driving ACCPA's advocacy on financing and reform, contributing to the vision and mission for a quality and sustainable aged care sector.With the current and future growth of the $36 billion aged care sector, this brand-new role will lead policy work related to funding and reform, legislation, and regulation.In late 2024, the new Aged Care Act passed Parliament, with ACCPA leading efforts to continue amplifying the sector's voice. Joining the team will see you contribute to ensuring people accessing aged care services are treated with the respect and quality of life they deserve.This opportunity offers the chance to make a real impact through advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and research, helping shape the future of an evolving and complex sector. The Role This role involves engaging in health and aged care financing and reform, seeking to address funding challenges to ensure the sector's sustainability, in the context of changing demographics, an increasingly ageing population, and changing older person preferences.You will see interesting and complex challenges, bringing together your education, skills, and experience to drive meaningful solutions with nation-wide impact.Key responsibilities include: Managing ACCPA’s policy and advocacy programs related to funding, reform, and regulation, in collaboration with the General Manager and other Policy & Advocacy teams Engaging and collaborating with diverse member types and internal and external stakeholders to progress advocacy priorities Developing and overseeing high quality submissions, positions, papers, and presentations Leading, coaching, and managing a team of 3 staff members Regularly communicating with members, including leading updates and feedback sessions on policy changes Representing ACCPA and their members at forums and meetings, including with the government and related agencies The Ideal Person This role is well suited to someone who is looking for a meaningful role in a high performing organisation that cares about its people, members, and purpose.In addition, you: Are tertiary qualified in health policy or a related discipline Understand the Australian health and aged care systems, and related legislation, including how reforms impact on service delivery at both meso and macro levels Understand, or can quickly get across, aged care funding and how it works at meso, macro, and systems level Can review the financial levers in health and aged care funding, identifying opportunities for improvement Can communicate clearly and influence others to understand key issues and take action Salary / Rate $140k - $150k base salary + Super Enhanced annual leave (>5 weeks) This role can be based from any of the ACCPA offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane (remote), or Hobart Excellent WFH flexibility with a mature approach to work/life balance and working hours Full-time / permanent ongoing role How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.Alternatively, for a confidential discussion, please contact Alan Larby on 02 6108 4878 quoting ref no. 20245 .
