Objectives of this role Reporting to the COO, the Head of Learning Services is responsible for leading and managing the Learning Services team while providing expert advice and guidance to clients. The role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. At a time of significant change in the sector, this role will be pivotal in ensuring that our Learning Services remain adaptive in its use of technology, systematic in its operations, and committed to best-practice learning experiences and principles that are at the core of everything we do. Beyond technical and operational expertise, this role is pivotal in building strong client relationships and will support new business growth. The Head of Learning Services is also responsible for fostering Curio’s culture, values, and reputation, ensuring that the team remains aligned with the company’s mission and vision. Key responsibilities and duties Leadership & Strategy Lead and manage the Learning Services team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring team members are engaged, motivated, and developed. Develop and implement strategies to drive learning transformation, ensuring Curio’s services remain at the forefront of digital and blended learning innovation. Champion a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development within the team. Learning Design & Change Management Oversee the design and delivery of learning experiences that enhance engagement, accessibility, and impact for diverse learners. Lead the transformation of learning services, helping clients shift towards new models of education, workforce learning, and digital-first strategies. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, leveraging data, insights, and emerging learning technologies to enhance Curio’s service offerings. Drive a change management mindset within the team, ensuring adaptability and innovation in learning delivery. Client Engagement & Business Development Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and delivering value. Provide expert advice and guidance based on industry knowledge, market trends, and data analysis. Develop and present business proposals by conducting research and collaborating with internal teams. Project Management & Delivery Oversee project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Systemise the delivery of projects and programs of work to enable scale and build internal program and project management capabilities. Develop, track and manage program and project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness, efficiency and continuous improvement. People & Culture Management Lead and develop a team of high-performing learning designers, consultants, and project managers, ensuring they are supported and challenged to grow. Champion diversity, inclusion, and collaboration, fostering a workplace where all employees feel valued and motivated. Lead change initiatives within the team, helping them adapt to evolving client needs and learning methodologies. Industry Expertise & Collaboration Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Collaborate with other teams within Curio to drive company-wide success. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor and/or Masters degrees in a relevant field. Over 10 years’ experience in consulting, organisational development, learning services, or a field related. Expertise in learning design, instructional design, curriculum development, and digital learning. Proven experience in creating and leading high-performing teams, including coaching, mentoring, and professional development. Strong background in change management, particularly in transitioning teams and clients to new learning models. Experience with education technology and learning platforms to enhance learning solutions. Excellent strategic thinking, financial acumen, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication and presentation abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to drive results.
