Head of Legal - Property Funds (Part-Time, 3 Days) This newly created role will report into the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, providing advice on capital transactions and fund structuring. The role will manage the relationship and budget with external law firms, briefing out matters where appropriate. A mid-market fund manager rapidly scaling up in size is looking for a Head of Legal to further build out the in-house legal function. Responsibilities: Advising on legal risk management and strategies to minimise exposure. Handle legal matters related to corporate actions within the group. Offer guidance on funds management, compliance, and financial product documentation. Support capital transaction processes, including legal document review and term sheet negotiation. Collaborate with the Group's team to establish equitable investment partnerships. Assist with compliance for financial services, including AFSL, AML/CTF, and privacy regulations. Provide legal advice on data, cyber and privacy issues. Conduct legal due diligence to prioritize critical transactional issues. Enhance legal knowledge and streamline legal operational procedures. Company Secretarial duties and Corporate Governance duties. Manage the contract lifecycle and provide legal assistance for various financial transactions. Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor of Laws degree and preferably Bachelor of Commerce, Finance or Economics. 10+ years experience in financial services law, with expertise in property fund management. Skilled in overseeing legal processes, term negotiations, and capital raising. Proficient in financial analysis, control mechanisms, and governance in investment frameworks.
