The Role Squadron Energy is seeking a highly experienced Head of Market Operations to lead the design, development, and execution of critical operational systems and processes to support our growing Customer and Energy Markets (CEM) division. Reporting to the Executive General Manager - CEM, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy markets while ensuring that customer-facing systems are seamless, efficient, and compliant. Key responsibilities include: Lead the design, delivery, and management of critical systems, including CRM, Billing, Risk Management, Customer Portal, and Customer Service Systems across gas and electricity markets. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure operational processes are aligned with business needs and regulatory requirements. Support the Head of Portfolio Strategy in designing the Risk Management system, policies, and processes to manage trading activities. Manage customer-facing interactions, from onboarding new customers to resolving queries and disputes, ensuring a seamless experience across all channels. Lead and motivate a high-performing team, providing development opportunities and managing performance. Oversee CEM’s data and applications (Business Intelligence) ensuring quality insights and reporting. Engage with financial compliance to ensure all activities adhere to laws and policies, escalating risks and issues as needed. About you You will have: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Significant experience in energy markets, IT system development, or renewables industry with direct experience in designing, implementing, and managing operational systems. Strong background in system integration, CRM, billing platforms, customer service systems, and risk management tools. Energy Customer management and Energy Markets systems knowledge. Expertise in system architecture, process optimisation, and digital transformation in energy markets. Proven leadership in driving system development and process improvements in a fast-paced, regulatory-heavy industry.
