What does the role involve? The Head of Strategy & Network Planning is a critical new position in the Network Operations team, leading the development of Australia Post’s 15-year strategic network plan and positioning the organisation at the cutting edge of operational competitiveness. Reporting to the General Manager, Network Development & Support Services, this senior leadership role is pivotal in orchestrating the strategic design, optimisation and planning of our parcels and letters logistics networks for the next 15 years. The successful candidate will lead the design and development of a world leading parcels and letters network, meeting our cost, service, customer experience, risk, resilience, and sustainability objectives. This is a key transformational role to enable Australia Post to deliver our long-term strategy of ensuring Australia Post remains competitive and future ready, thriving for another 200+ years. Central to the success of the role will be the ability to build strong, influential and constructive internal and external relationships, and work in partnership with all key stakeholders to gain buy-in for a world-class Network Plan. While the preferred location for the role is Melbourne, we welcome interest from Sydney based candidates. Key role responsibilities: Develop and gain endorsement for the 15-year Network Plan in collaboration with the Network Operations Leadership Team and other Enterprise SME teams. Produce annual capital plans to secure the necessary funding for the ongoing network transformation, along with integrated implementation plans for Board Review. Support optimisation efforts and develop detailed volume analysis and network scenario modelling to enable informed, longer term strategic planning. Lead strategic network planning, asset placement and design in partnership with the Enterprise Property Team a detailed 15-year view of our Network Property requirements. Collaborate with the Customer Experience Transformation (CXT) team to align the network roadmap with customer experience and market expectations. Partner with relevant Technology SME teams to develop the tech roadmap required to deliver on the Network Plan. Work with the People & Culture team to develop a future-ready operational workforce. Lead a high-performing team, driving innovation and best practice, and supporting their career development. What experience will you have? Significant leadership experience within large complex operational environments, including building and leading high-performance teams. Extensive experience in strategic leadership roles within large-scale logistics, transport or supply chain operations. Expert-level knowledge within the logistics industry, including emerging innovation, competitor strategies and global best practice. Bachelor's degree minimum in Logistics, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance or a relevant field. Experience in the design, planning and implementation of strategic supply chain solutions. Experience in identifying opportunity for change and innovation, and prioritising and implementing significant transformational initiatives in an operational environment.
