Employment Type: Full-Time (flexibility of contract 1-3 years) Application Deadline: 1 March 2025 Introduction Due to an internal movement within our management team, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of School (Principal) to join our beautiful school. We are a 22-year-old Kindergarten to Year 8 school, true to the intentions and ideals of Steiner education. Over the past year, the school leadership continued to mature with a focus on supportive structures. Our senior leadership team comprises strong pedagogical experience as well as strategic, management and finance. What we desire is a skilled Head of School to have oversight of the management and running of the school supported by this stellar team. About Cairns Hinterland Steiner School (CHSS) Located in the lush, tropical surrounds of Kuranda, Cairns Hinterland Steiner School offers a unique educational experience for students from Kindergarten to Year 8, with plans to expand into senior secondary education (Year 9 -12) at a separate campus in Cairns. We have approximately 200 students in our school. We are deeply committed to the principles of Steiner education, providing a holistic approach that fosters creativity, resilience, and a love of learning within our vibrant school community. Our mission is to nurture the intellectual, artistic, and practical capacities of each child, preparing them for meaningful lives in harmony with others and the natural world. Our students have gained a reputation as they transition into mainstream high school of curious, self-directed learners.
