The Company Opportunity to join a market leading food production business who are looking to further invest in their sustainability commitment and develop their sustainability program. With over 100 years of operational history, they dominate their market nationally and are committed to creating a healthier, brighter and more sustainable future. The Role This role will head up sustainability across the business, developing out strategy and the function as a whole. An exciting time to join, with the ability to shape Sustainability policy and really make an impact. Responsibilities include: Drive and lead the company’s Sustainability program and committee. Advise stakeholders across the business Sustainability goals and compliance, including across operations, the customer team, projects and the senior leadership team. Develop and deliver training, clear communications and initiatives aligned to agreed ESG targets. Develop and conduct annual review of Sustainability goals, targets and measures, communicating any developments to stakeholders. Management of reporting for mandatory and customer reports. Establish annual budget, project ROI and reinvestment plans. Define parameters around reporting, then track and monitor relevant activities to reduce cost and emissions. Establish Supplier emissions requirements and recording, monitoring this across suppliers. Support the commercialisation of any product and packaging changes. Represent and be the face of Sustainability for the business, including at conferences and events. Your Background In order to be successful in this role, you will: Degree in Sustainability, Science or Engineering. 7-10 years in sustainability or food manufacturing – some level of food manufacturing experience is essential. Strong knowledge of production process, as well as commodities, ingredients, packaging and products. Experience with emissions frameworks and developing Sustainability strategy and policy. Ability to engage and influence across the business, as well as stakeholders both internally and externally. Knowledge of tender requirements, project planning, development and management skills.
