Position Overview: The Head of Ecommerce and Technology is a strategic leader responsible for driving the growth and innovation of Six Zero Pickleball’s ecommerce operations and technological capabilities for a fast-paced global company. This position will ensure seamless operations, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and drive innovation in a fast-paced global market. Role Objectives: Design and execute innovative strategies to grow eCommerce and enhance customer engagement. Develop and implement an exceptional technology strategy across the business. Ensure the eCommerce and business technology stack is operational and performant to business requirements. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing eCommerce and technology team. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive ecommerce strategy aligned with business goals. Collaborate with leadership to develop the annual budgets and technology roadmaps. Drive alignment between eCommerce, technology, and overall business goals. Leadership & Teamwork: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing ecommerce and technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Partner with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business priorities. Participate in leadership meetings to provide insights and drive decision-making. Commercial & Operational: Oversee and manage the technical eCommerce functions of multiple online stores, including migrations and launches, product roadmap, features and functionality, technical support and web development, integrations and back-office systems, data management, site speed and uptime, and domain management. Manage an external web agency to deliver site improvements, updates, and bug fixes within budget. Work with the eCommerce Manager to support technical SEO initiatives with our external SEO agency. Identify opportunities to automate recurring tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy. Contribute to operational data quality programs & initiatives. Oversee the company’s technology infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Lead the development of custom software, platforms, or integrations to meet unique business requirements and improve operational efficiency. Work closely with the eCommerce Manager to develop the eCommerce roadmap and development backlog for features and functionality. Maintain strong cybersecurity measures to protect customer data and company assets. Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors, platforms, and service providers. Negotiate contracts and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Act as a liaison between the business and technology teams to ensure effective communication and delivery of goals. Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage analytics to understand customer behaviour and identify growth opportunities. Implement tools and processes to track performance and generate actionable insights. Drive decisions based on ROI analysis, market trends, and customer feedback. Experience & Qualifications: Mandatory: Minimum 5 years of operational eCommerce experience. Advanced knowledge of eCommerce and technology platforms. Proven track record of managing eCommerce projects and teams. Experience with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Merchant Centre, Facebook Business Manager & Google Data Studio) and marketing platforms (e.g. Klaviyo). Experience with inventory management tools (e.g. Netsuite or Cin7) and accounting tools (e.g. Xero). Experience in conversion rate optimisation and technical SEO. Ability to draw insights and make recommendations and implement changes to online store to maximise sales, conversion rate, average order value. Project and task management skills. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail. Knowledge of data architecture, ERP systems, and API connectivity. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work efficiently and to deadlines. Minimum 3 years in an eCommerce leadership role. Minimum 5 years utilising Shopify eCommerce platform. Experience managing capex and opex budgets. Experience capturing and documenting requirements, specifications, and process mapping.
