Add expected salary to your profile for insights Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is looking for two Health Centre Coordinator's (HCC) for our remote health centers in Kalkaringi and Timber Creek . This position will be well suited to someone with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote area nursing, with an understanding of Aboriginal cultural values, and commitment to the advancement and self-determination of Aboriginal communities. Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that provides a range of clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory. With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia. About the Opportunity The Health Centre Coordinator (HCC) is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day operations and systems management of primary health care services delivered at Katherine West Health Board’s Health Centres. The HCC is required to provide high level support and culturally competent clinical leadership and supervision to the Health Centre team. This position is a leadership role that is required to maintain health systems, provide education and training to staff, and encourage positive community health action. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to): Partner with other health professionals and relevant external stakeholders to ensure an interprofessional, collaborative, and multi-agency approach to health care is achieved when appropriate. Initiate and participate in Quality Improvement activities within the Health Centre to enhance the safety and effectiveness of care. Lead the team in the orientation of new staff to the organisation's philosophy, policies and procedures, and health centre functions to promote effective teamwork. Promote effective collaboration and mutual respect between centre-based staff, health program team members, visiting specialists, and other key stakeholders to ensure clients have access to a range of services. Be responsible for the cold chain management of vaccines and coordination of infection control practices with the support of the health centre team. Deputise in senior positions when required to maintain consistent service provision.
