(subject to review and approval) About the Role: An excellent opportunity exists to lead and manage the Acute Allied Health Services (AAHS) Physiotherapy at Canberra Health Services. AAHS Physiotherapy provides physiotherapy services across 7 days with extended hours of service provision. The manager is responsible for delivery of acute clinical services based predominately at Canberra Hospital campus with funded 63 FTE and staff head count of 80+ staff. Services include Emergency Department, Critical Care areas, inpatient medical and surgical wards, women and children physiotherapy services at Centenary Hospital for Women & Children and specialised tertiary outpatient services including off-campus Pain Management Unit and Spinal Pain Service. AAHS Physiotherapy has well established advanced musculoskeletal practice physiotherapy positions in the Emergency Department, Orthopaedic Screening and Rheumatology and working to expand into Neurosurgery/Spinal Pain and Hand Therapy. AAHS Physiotherapy department is a progressive and innovative department committed to service development and redesign, quality improvement and research. The department is committed to teaching and training with 80+ physiotherapy student placements for 2025, focused clinical skills and knowledge education and training programs for new graduate, early career physiotherapists and experienced clinicians; and has established training pathways for advanced practice physiotherapists. Staff are supported with clinical supervision, funded external professional development and organisational education /training programs. Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to: Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy. Comply with CHS credentialing and scope of clinical practice requirements for allied health professionals.
