RAC has been a resource, service provider and enabler of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of the Greater Shepparton region since 1980. RAC is a cooperative working to provide a range of supports and services including: Health and wellbeing Positive aging and disability services Community services Asset and infrastructure services Corporate services RAC has an annual budget of $19 million and a workforce of approximately 230 people. RAC is a significant employer and economic contributor to the region and plays a high profile leadership role as one of the larger Aboriginal organisations in Australia. RAC is committed to ensuring the Aboriginal people in the Goulburn Valley have certainty of access to community-controlled services. Role Purpose: The Health Project Worker will play a key role in improving the health and well-being of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by coordinating and supporting various health initiatives, outreach activities, and educational campaigns. This includes coordinating Allied Health Clinics, working alongside clinical staff during outreach appointments, managing Sexual and Reproductive Health Campaigns, leading the Deadly Choices Campaign, and collaborating with Early Years Teams to provide culturally safe Parenting Health Groups. Aboriginal Health Worker qualification is highly desirable. Experience in Community Engagement, or Project Management, preferably in a health or social service setting. Proven ability to coordinate and manage Community Health Clinics and outreach activities. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading Health Education Campaigns, especially for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously. Cultural competence and understanding of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
