Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Team Leader CJD Equipment is seeking an experienced Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Team Leader with excellent knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental issues in the workplace. Our National HSE Team Leader plays an important role in ensuring our employees are safe and that we meet all necessary legislative requirements. Reporting to the National HSE and Training Manager, you will lead a small team to deliver HSE support to 24 branches spread across Australia. Working closely with the Management Teams and branches, you will have the opportunity to deliver outcomes to influence the safety culture at CJD Equipment. Ideally, you are personable, hands-on, and comfortable supporting the day-to-day operations and activities. The key responsibilities of this role include: Driving the organisational safety, health, and environment culture, which involves promoting and demonstrating safe behaviours and practices. Identifying continuous improvement opportunities, reporting accidents and near misses to identify lessons learned, and identifying hazards and unsafe acts. Leading, developing, and coaching your team and colleagues to identify risks, manage risks, and deliver quality reports on risks. Developing our measures for success, combining lead and lag indicators, and generating tools to assist us with continual improvement. Reviewing our safety systems. Travelling to our branches to provide support to our teams on the frontline. Creating structured programs to educate and support our team members to consistently get HSE right. The successful applicant will have: Tertiary qualifications or a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Supervisory/leadership experience. Proven extensive knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and regulations. Although not essential, a background in mechanical services, construction equipment or the trucking industries. FYI – we work with top brands like Volvo & Kenworth. Superb technical skills, where you understand the legislative nuances between states and territories.
