Short Description Job title: Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager Location: Brisbane (Hybrid role: approx. 3 days per week in Brisbane office, 2 days work from home + periodic travel and work in North West Queensland) Salary: Up to $178,400 Additional: Hybrid working arrangement + development opportunities in a pivotal leadership role. Develop and implement innovative safety frameworks while fostering a culture of wellbeing for our client. About the Company Our client is a government-owned water and energy utility provider. Known for their commitment to operational excellence, safety, innovation, and sustainability, they aim to set industry benchmarks in safety and wellbeing. About the Role The Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Manager will report directly to the CEO and play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the organisation’s Safety Management System (SMS). This is a hands-on position that emphasises legislative compliance, cultural transformation, and strategic safety leadership. Key Responsibilities: Leading the review and enhancement of the SMS, ensuring compliance and alignment with best practices. Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and targeted campaigns. Conducting risk assessments, implementing controls, and overseeing contractor safety management. Collecting and analysing safety performance data to provide strategic insights to the Executive Leadership Team and Board. Driving safety culture through impactful training and engagement initiatives. Skills and Experience: To thrive in this role, you will need: A tertiary qualification in Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in a safety management role. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and improve Safety Management Systems. Strong knowledge of Queensland’s workplace health and safety legislation. Proven experience conducting safety investigations, with formal qualifications in ICAM considered an advantage. Proven leadership skills with experience in cultural transformation initiatives. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders across all levels.
