The H&S Coordinator will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a health & safety culture within the company across our Newcastle West, Cork, and Galway sites and will be exposed to a wide variety of multiple site activities and challenges associated with the logistical aspects of a leading food catering industry supplier. We are looking for someone who has a demonstrable understanding of our business, a keen interest in health & safety, and an interest in personal & professional development. Educational assistance will be provided to the successful candidate to obtain a Graduate Diploma qualification in health and safety, as well as relevant training on all related aspects of our H&S management systems and processes. Key Accountabilities: The H&S Coordinator will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a strong health and safety culture within the company. Assists in the development & implementation of health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with current and future relevant legislation and industry best practice. Supports an effective risk assessment and risk reduction programme across sites. Conducts regular internal H&S inspections and audits to monitor the effectiveness of controls and highlight any areas for improvement/action. Facilitates external audits & inspections where required. Monitors the departmental programmes, tasks, objectives, and goals to achieve targets. Manages the action tracking process through liaising with all stakeholders to ensure agreed actions are closed in a timely manner and escalated where necessary. Monitors the H&S performance via metrics to ensure decisive action is taken when required. Supports delivery of training to management and personnel when required. Ensures the incident investigation process is in place and followed. Supports investigations where necessary. Continuously monitors and reviews incident data and trends to ensure adequate investigations are taking place and appropriate corrective actions and outcomes identified and implemented. Facilitates regular meetings between stakeholders including safety representatives/committees and management. Requirements: Willingness to work towards Graduate Diploma (Level 8) in Occupational Safety, Health, and Welfare. Attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills essential. Must be able to work on own initiative in a very busy environment. Experience of working within an FMCG business. Computer literate with excellent knowledge of the full range of MS Office packages. Flexibility with shift rotation and travel required. Full clean driving licence with own car. Knowledge of ISO standards advantageous. Training, Delivery & Evaluation (QQI 6) or Instructor training advantageous.
