We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics to join our growing team in Emerald. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and Repair: Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles. Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, brake inspections, tyre rotations, and more. Electrical & Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in trucks. Engine Work: Repair or replace engine components, such as fuel pumps, turbochargers, and timing belts. Welding & Fabrication: Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as required. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used, repairs made, and hours worked. Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out following safety standards and company policies. Customer Service: Provide excellent service to internal and external customers by explaining repair needs and solutions clearly. Qualifications: Experience: Proven experience as a truck mechanic, working with heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles. Certifications: Ideally Australian Recognised Trade Certificate as a HRT Mechanic. Skills: Strong knowledge of truck mechanics, diagnostics tools, and repair techniques. Tools: Must have own hand tools. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy parts and work in various weather conditions. Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in repairs and maintenance. Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering quality service. Licenses: Minimum C class license is required, ideally HR license. Benefits: Competitive hourly rate from $55 - $60 based on experience and additional qualifications including ARTC, HR license, LF HRWL, 2 x year post trade apprenticeship. 4 weeks paid holiday per year. Superannuation paid on all hours worked. Training and development opportunities (trade upgrades on offer from Light Vehicle to Heavy Vehicle) get paid to train.
