You'll produce high-quality diagnostic tissue sections, serving veterinary hospitals, industries, and research groups. Your role will involve coordinating vital laboratory resources including maintenance of high-quality equipment to achieve optimal results. You'll also have the chance to share your knowledge by training postgraduate students and staff while contributing to innovative research projects. This position offers the exciting prospect of developing new techniques in the field. Your responsibilities will include: Create superior quality tissue sections for timely diagnosis, adhering to Good Laboratory Practice policies. Perform manual immunohistochemistry and special staining techniques to support research and diagnostic outcomes. Maintain equipment, manage chemical inventory, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Collaborate on research projects, modify techniques as needed, and provide training to students and staff. Contribute to the maintenance of extensive anatomic pathology archives, including tissue blocks, slides, and records. This position will require physical activity including manual handling. You are required to have relevant current vaccination status such as Tetanus, Hepatitis A and B, Q fever, and other zoonotic diseases. You may be a great fit if: You are an experienced histopathology technician with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment. You may also: Have a relevant tertiary qualification in biological sciences (e.g., Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine). Possess experience in histological techniques in a diagnostic or research setting. Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills. Have knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations in laboratory settings.
