Cann Group also owns Satipharm and its patent-protected capsule technology.Learn more at: | Position Summary Reporting to the Horticulture Lead, the Horticulture Specialist will actively participate in maintaining the facility’s horticulture needs, in line with the direction and scheduling of the Horticulture Lead.Working alongside the Horticulture Specialist, this role will involve a multitude of tasks covering all facets of plant maintenance, including pruning, plant health checks, pest management, and propagation activities. As with all CANN employees, this position must endeavour to demonstrate all CANN values and will promote CANN values and beliefs to all areas and levels of the business.Key Position Responsibilities And Accountabilities Performing the day-to-day horticulture activities in Flower, Mother, Vegetative Propagation as directed by the Horticulture Lead, Glasshouse Systems Lead and Cultivation Manager. Execute all plant maintenance activities including production plant pruning, mother stock management, plant health check reporting and integrated pest management activities. Knows, understands, and applies fundamental principles of cultivation SOP and sanitation in the field in a practical manner. Lead and participate in cultivation activities (as listed above) while ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Completes documentation/batch files/labelling in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and participates in document reviews. Execution of facility Integrated Pest and Disease Management (IPDM) strategy outlined in the IPDM strategy. Propagation cycle management and maintenance checks and crop care initiatives. Maintain a clean glasshouse environment to adherence to cultivation master sanitation schedule. Daily and weekly cleaning of GACP (Good Agricultural Collection Practices) production areas including the flowering rooms. Participates in the general upkeep and maintenance of the facility to maintain the site as clean, tidy and in good repair. Contribute to writing, publishing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions associated with horticultural maintenance activities. Escalate equipment and scheduling issues promptly to the Senior Horticulture Specialist, and work with the wider operations team to devise the appropriate corrective actions. Utilise the appropriate processes and systems to report business, safety, and quality issues. Guide and assist Production Operator - Cultivators in performing all their related duties. Drive the continuous improvement of systems and processes within the cultivation team. Additional duties as required. About You Qualifications / Licences Certificate III or above in Horticulture, Agriculture, Biodiversity, Conservation and Land Manager or a related field. Pre-employment Security and Health Screening. Experience Specialist plant knowledge such as pest and disease identification, plant nutrition and plant pruning experience.
