About this role: As a Housing Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering tenancy and property management services. Working collaboratively within our Housing Programs team, you will help manage diverse housing portfolios and foster tenant engagement while ensuring properties meet high standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage housing portfolios, including allocations, eligibility assessments, and rent management. Minimise property damage and maximise cost recovery through effective processes. Promote tenant participation, feedback, and community connections. Oversee maintenance programs, conduct property inspections, and ensure timely repairs. Maintain accurate records and reports in line with legislative and organisational standards. This role goes beyond tenancy management – it’s about creating opportunities and building better lives for people facing housing challenges. What you can bring to the team We’re seeking an empathetic, proactive professional with a strong background in community services or tenancy management. To be suitable for the position, ideally you have: Certificate IV in Social Housing (or equivalent qualification/experience). Minimum three years of experience in tenancy or community service roles. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008. Well-developed communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Possess or willingness to obtain: A valid driver’s license; A National Police Certificate; A Blue Card. Desirable: Familiarity with the needs of low-income individuals, those at risk of homelessness, or people with special needs. Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
