Human Resources Business Partner (12 Month Contract) Business Chamber Queensland is seeking a Human Resources Professional to join the team on a 12-month maternity leave cover, supporting our internal HR functions on a Full-Time basis. This role is responsible for the day-to-day strategic initiatives, working across multiple HR functions to further support business objectives, policies and contribute to the overall delivery of internal HR services. Position Summary: The Human Resources Business Partner will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing HR strategies and programs that align with the company’s goals and values. This role involves overseeing a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding and induction, training and development, performance management and internal communications. The HRBP will also be responsible for fostering a safe, sustainable and culturally aligned work environment through effective policy implementation and compliance. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the development and execution of HR initiatives, systems and strategies to enhance organisational performance Provide expert advice on HR Policies and procedures to employees and management, with adherence to best practices Create and set up artifacts, systems, processes and procedures to streamline and maximise efficiencies Actively participate in the recruitment process and manage the overall hiring process to attract top talent Design and implement effective onboarding programs to ensure cultural values meet organisational expectations Develop and oversee training programs that promote the company’s cultural values and enhance employee’s soft skills, ensuring ongoing professional growth and alignment with organisational goals Assist in managing performance review processes, ensuring evaluations reflect both performance metrics and alignment with company culture and values and KPI’s Support management in any disciplinary and grievance procedures, ensuring fair and consistent handling of issues is in accordance with company and legislative policies Maintain accurate employee records and EEO data in compliance with legal and policy requirements. Review employment and working conditions to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations Design and implement employee recognition programs that celebrate achievements that align with desired behaviours and cultural values Design and implement employee surveys to gain feedback and provide continuous improvement Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by developing health and safety policies and procedures in line with local and state and federal regulations are adhered to. Conduct safety audits, manage training programs and address and communicate safety initiative and or concerns to promote a culture of safety Promote and integrate sustainability practices within the organisation, including developing policies that support environmental stewardship, resources conservation and waste reduction Advance the organisation’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) objectives by developing and implementing related policies and lead initiatives to promote social responsibility ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and reporting on ESG performance Enhance internal communications by developing strategies that ensure effective and transparent, regular communication. Manage communications channels e.g. newsletters, intranet, employee feedback surveys to foster a positive culture Education and Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in HR, business, or a related discipline preferred. Knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009, National Employment Standards, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and the employment lifecycle. Knowledge of EA, IR and contracts 5 + years dedicated experience with HR policies, procedures, protocol development, and related employment matters. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, relationship building, reliability, time management, attention to detail, problem-solving and decision-making, presentation, and project management capabilities Demonstrated capacity to develop positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiate desired outcomes with a focus on creating a positive culture High competency using Employment Hero, MS Suite applications Power BI experience, ideally What’s in it for you?
