Independent to Parliament, VAGO ensures the accountability of the State Government through audits and assurance reviews of public sector agencies. We have two audit portfolios within VAGO: Parliamentary Reports and Services and Financial Audit. Our audit support function is split into the Office of the Auditor-General and Corporate Services. What's the role? We are seeking a skilled and proactive HR professional to join our team and positively partner with business units and help us continue to build a people-centric culture. Key responsibilities Case manage low-risk HR/employee relations issues to resolution in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, and procedure. Support strategic projects and initiatives, providing expert problem-solving to identify effective people solutions and enhance organisational processes. Manage the delivery of key people plans, including Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, ensuring statutory reporting, stakeholder communications, and tracking of deliverables. Review, update, and communicate people policies and procedures. Partner with VAGO leaders to deliver tailored HR services and advice throughout the employee lifecycle. Stay up-to-date with best practices, emerging trends in HR, and employment law through networking, webinars, industry experts, and formal study. Collaborate closely with colleagues across the talent management lifecycle. Build and maintain strong, constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Support the Senior HR Partner with key tasks such as translating people data into actionable insights and managing HRIS data. Who we're looking for As an experienced HR practitioner, you will bring: Expertise in employee relations and contemporary best practices. Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. Experience with HRIS systems (SuccessFactors preferred). Ability to analyse people data and address key business issues. A focus that cultivates positive relationships with employees and stakeholders prioritising relationship-building and buy-in over process. Demonstrable innovative thinking and embracing of change and ability to adapt to changing priorities and needs. Contribution to a shared purpose within the HR team and cross-functional projects.
