SUPERMARKET DUTY MANAGER Hamilton Island has a great opportunity for an experienced Duty Manager to join their team! Your Role The Duty Manager is responsible for assisting department managers and supervisors within each area and cover management duties as required by the Store Manager, and forms part of the store management team. Ensure consistent stock levels are maintained Assist the store manager and department managers to meet sales targets and manage wastage Assist in the preparation of fresh food and Deli Department as requested by Store manager or Department Managers Serve customers as required at deli or checkouts Direct store staff in the absence of department managers and store manager Inspire customers through presentation, merchandising and stock management Work with ordering processes within departments Assist in providing a safe environment for our team and customers Be familiar and ensure compliance with the ‘Food Act 2006’ and ‘Safe Food Australia’ standards Duty manage departments or the store as required in the absence of department managers or store manager Assist in store person duties and shelf refills Assist the store management team in developing opportunities to maximise profit and meet customer needs Open and close the store as needed; assure that opening and closing security procedures are adhered to Support all departments and provide coaching and guidance to line staff Respond to customer feedback or complaints in a timely manner About You You are computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. You can work constructively in a team environment. You are reliable and flexible as your role requires you to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. You will also have: Minimum two years experience in a supermarket and have held a relevant supervisory or management position for 12 months Retail food industry experience (essential) Food Safety Supervisors Certificate (essential) Experience with GAP or Worldsmart inventory and POS management systems (preferred) About Us Part of the Whitsundays and in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton Island is one of Australia’s most spectacular and sought-after holiday destinations.
