The primary focus of the role will be providing relevant strategic and operational assistance to the Portfolio Delivery Manager in supporting the uplift of the IT portfolio management and coordination of digital delivery in the AEC. The role will have a responsibility to engage and coordinate widely across programs, IT, and business, meaning strong stakeholder engagement and management skills are essential. Success for this role will rely on the individual’s ability to deliver in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment, be a good cultural fit and an ability to challenge and drive thinking in new directions. Key duties and responsibilities Establishing and implementing ITIL change processes with a need to work across both the strategic and operational levels. Analyse complex situations, provide strategic advice and offer relevant IT change solutions and support to business managers and project managers. Introduce change processes in respect of the delivery of large programs, and the creation and running of professional ITIL change processes and structures. Ability to fit in with a collaborative team that puts culture first. Work with working groups and senior stakeholders to align change activities to the business and project schedules. Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed by the Director of the OCIO from time to time. Foster a positive workplace culture. About the project The Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) sits within the Enterprise Transformation Group (ETG) in the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC). The Division is responsible for providing the enterprise ICT offering for the agency as well as providing portfolio management of digital delivery across the AEC. This will include working across the delivery of BAU ICT services, election event delivery, project delivery, and supporting a Tier 1 digital investment program. Through this emerging IT Portfolio Management Office (ITPMO), the CIOD has a mandate to drive IT governance, strategic uplift, business management, and portfolio management of technical delivery within the organisation. The ITPMO will coordinate ICT development, delivery, release, and IT change across the organisation. This role is to support the establishment of this capability, and to work with staff across CIOD to embed a new IT operating model that will incorporate this portfolio delivery capability within the CIOD. There is a large focus on cultural fit within the Division overall and the ability to maintain open and honest communication and collaboration. The expectation is that this role is one that will embody this culture, support the positive maintenance of the culture within their specific team, and be an advocate for the continued maintenance of that culture. Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver on key milestones. Strong communication, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Proven experience in supporting people through change and improving processes and governance structures. Proven ability to communicate with influence, negotiate outcomes and manage complex stakeholder relationships. Demonstrated personal drive and integrity whilst achieving results within legislative parameters. Relevant qualifications and / or industry certification.
