About the Role The DevOps Engineer will be leading automation solutions within the IT team and support integration with third party systems. Working closely with the IT Infrastructure Administrators and Enterprise Architect, the DevOps Engineer will support the business and its requirement to implement technical solutions for use within the corporate environment; as well as a growing need to support smaller bespoke solutions in the project arena. The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in streamlining processes, automating workflows, and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines that enhance our development and deployment cycles. The general and generic duties of the DevOps Engineer include, but are not limited to: Lead and contribute to the development and delivery of both on-premises and cloud infrastructure solutions Oversee the integration and automation of systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and reliability Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid deployment of applications and services Take ownership of selected Linux systems to ensure continuous patching and monitoring Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in processes and technologies Create and ensure detailed technical documentation to support DevOps and IT solutions is kept up to date Support Infrastructure team and provide Level 3 operational and technical support, including high availability planning and execution Alignment of all technical decisions with IT Enterprise Architect Work closely with the IT Operations Manager and Security Team to ensure that new technical solutions are aligned correctly with all IT streams Recommend and drive improvements in process and technologies Perform other responsibilities and duties assigned by your supervisor to meet reasonable operational and/or other requirements. The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: 5+ years of DevOps or platform engineering experience in enterprise environments. Strong proficiency in DevOps methodologies and automation tools, including CI/CD pipelines, GitHub or GitLab, Packer, Terraform, or Pulumi. Proven experience using Ansible or Puppet, for automating repetitive tasks. Strong understanding of Linux systems. Experience with database technologies, including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and a solid understanding of NoSQL databases. Strong capabilities in integrating platforms and systems via REST APIs. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
