About the role This is a rare opportunity to build your career in a world class team and support the defence systems that keep Australia safe. Reporting to the Head of Group IT, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing IT support, managing all IT related incidents and service requests for James Fisher & Sons entities in Australia. This role will lead the efficiency and security of systems in Australia while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This position requires occasional/quarterly interstate travel. Primary duties include: Provide IT support for Australian entities and perform tasks in line with JFS security protocols and policies. Assist in procurement of workstations and imaging. Proactively manage suppliers in line with Group IT standard practices. Identify areas of improvement, manage, research, and implement the improvements while working under the guidance of the Head of Group IT. Take the lead role in identifying future opportunities that will improve the delivery of services to the business & present practical cost-effective solutions to the board. Regularly review operational reports and identify new reports to improve productivity and performance. Always be “Service Oriented” and constantly champion improvements of Service Standards. Ensure a swift response and analysis of new requests, escalating promptly if required. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Qualification in IT or service management (or equivalent experience). Understanding of server and networking technology and protocols. Good all-round experience of desktop software products in particular Microsoft Office and Exchange. Experience in 3rd party contract liaison. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well as part of a team. Self-motivated with a desire to provide excellent customer service. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and telephone manners. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage own workload and able to deal with a diverse range of requests and user queries. Incident Management experience – Managing incidents including business expectations and communication. Understanding of Change Management process. Why work for JFD?
