Australia - VIC Melbourne - All locations Added Thursday 13th of February 2025 04:37:29 PM Milestone IT is partnering with a major organisation to find a highly motivated and experienced IT Project Manager to lead two critical infrastructure upgrade projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on a large-scale environment and enhance your project management expertise. About the Role: As the IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of two key projects: SQL Upgrade & Consolidation: This project involves upgrading and consolidating a significant number of SQL servers and databases that are currently at or nearing their end-of-life (EOL). You will be responsible for coordinating the assessment, planning, migration, and testing phases, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Windows Server Operating System Uplift: This project will see the uplift of approximately 300 Windows Servers to a more modern and secure operating system. You will manage the project timeline, resources, and risks associated with this large-scale upgrade, ensuring seamless transition and minimal downtime. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, escalating where necessary. Monitor project progress and report regularly to stakeholders. Ensure adherence to project methodologies and best practices. Manage vendor relationships, where applicable. Coordinate testing and implementation activities. Ensure successful project closure and handover. Essential Skills and Experience: Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, ideally within a large and complex environment. Demonstrated experience in managing infrastructure upgrade projects, particularly server upgrades and migrations. Strong understanding of SQL Server and Windows Server environments. Excellent project management skills, including planning, execution, and risk management. Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead and motivate project teams. Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall). Highly Desirable: Experience with SQL Server upgrade and consolidation projects.
