Job Description

New permanent IT Support Team Leader position to help meet growing demands of their organisation. Your new company A large global services group has created a new permanent IT Support Team Leader position to help meet the growing demands of their organisation, based in Melbourne's South-East, commencing ASAP. You will be working closely with the IT Manager, working as their right-hand person to assist with leading the Service Desk team and managing vendors. If you are someone that likes to lead by example and keep hands-on with your technology skills - then this is the perfect position for you! Once settled into this position, there may be some flexible hybrid working arrangements available. Your new role In this challenging and rewarding position, you will be responsible for: Act as the escalation point to handle unresolved technical issues and customer concerns via phone and email, using remote access technologies. Take ownership of complex technical issues, especially related to Microsoft 365. Ensure accurate documentation, timely updates, and closure of tickets within the Service Desk team. Continuously improve the knowledge-base and ensure accuracy. Lead from the front and help encourage a culture where your team shares common issues and resolutions with one another. Diagnose and resolve system issues, escalating server and network problems as needed. Strong Vendor Management and co-ordination: Work with third-party service providers to resolve issues. The "go to" person for any hardware/software deployments. Overseeing the installation, configuration, and deployment of projects for end-users. Document and report recurring issues to identify trends. IT Manager Support: Assist the IT Manager with various tasks and initiatives as required. Ensure the ITSM framework and Essential 8 Security regulations are met. Asset Management: Handle IT procurement and vendor management. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have: ITIL Framework knowledge or certification. Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, and cloud technologies. IT operational projects (migrations, integrations, technology refresh). A Tertiary qualification in IT or relevant certifications. Ability to deliver work within tight deadlines. Experience with Cloud technologies (MS 365, Azure AD Admin, Teams, Exchange, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, MDM), Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Basic server and network administration skills. Hardware end-user device troubleshooting and support experience. Microsoft PowerShell and Graph Explorer (highly regarded). Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to client's sites as required. Previous Team Lead/ Management experience is advantageous.
