Impact Assessment Unit is responsible for administering the statutory environmental impact assessment (EIA) system for major projects in Victoria, in particular the Environment Effects Act 1978 (EE Act) and Bilateral Agreement with the Commonwealth under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act). This supports the Minister for Planning and government to make timely, informed assessments and decisions, and proponents to evaluate and refine their proposals efficiently in the context of effective EIA and stakeholder input. Qualifications and Experience Mandatory A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated technical skills and experience in environmental impact assessment or aligned discipline is required. Experience in environmental impact assessments and statutory approval processes for large and/or complex projects.
