The Brisbane Lions are seeking to appoint our next Indigenous Community Officer to join the Marketing, Events & Community team. The role will be full-time and report to the Community Manager position. This position will be based out of a world-class Brisbane Lions Elite Performance Facility, Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield Central. Due to the nature of the industry and this position, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as odd hours and weekend work may be required, including working at games. The role will focus on building and fostering authentic relationships that reflect our values while celebrating and amplifying Indigenous voices, culture and history through meaningful programs and events. The successful candidate will be a community-minded individual with a strong connection to and understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions. Responsibilities Lead the calendar of Indigenous programs and events that promote health, wellness and community participation in AFL and the Brisbane Lions. Develop initiatives and resources that increase the Club’s knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures and history. Collaborate with Indigenous organisations and community partners to increase participation and engagement with our programs. Act as a key member of the Brisbane Lions Indigenous Advisory Committee. Partner with the Marketing and Digital teams to capture, create and share powerful stories and content. What you need: Previous experience in a similar role focusing on planning, coordinating and executing large events. Experience in the sports or entertainment industries coordinating game day style events highly desirable. Ability to handle high pressure and ever-changing situations. Excellent time management and communication skills. Collaborative and dynamic team player. High computer literacy and advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office suite.
