ABOUT THE ROLE The responsibilities of the Building Designer include: Creating in-depth book specifications for state of the art Food Processing Facilities. Drafting floor plan layouts that incorporate third party, in-house and seamless farm operations. Coordinate with construction teams to ensure specifications are met during the design phase. Perform site inspections during the construction phase to ensure specifications are met. Liaising with the tech team and operations to create efficient workflows to incorporate into new building designs. Optimize the use of space to accommodate machinery, production lines and staff movement. Account for proper waste management and drainage systems. Proactively identify and address potential safety hazards in the design phase. Develop detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive records of design approvals and compliance certifications. ABOUT YOU The right candidate will have a qualification in Building Design or Architecture. Confidence and ability to manage multiple consultants. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit required. Familiarity with Inventor preferred but not required. Proficiency in creating marketing level rendering. 3+ years experience in commercial building design and with specialization in food process facility design preferred. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Effective communicator, capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality. Must be available for interstate and international travel when required.
