Job Description

Development DirectorFull-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency Details : The Suburban Land Agency (SLA) is seeking a multi-faceted Development Director to join the Place Delivery Group and cohort of Development Directors responsible for the delivery and reporting on annual land releases, settlements, associated financial and non-financial KPIs and meeting delivery targets for land sales identified in the Indicative Land Release Program (ILRP). The Place Delivery Group is made up of the following functions: Urban Development, including urban estates and urban releases Commercial Ventures, including Ginninderry Joint Venture; Greenfield Development, including Molonglo and Gungahlin suburbs and Town Centres Infrastructure Services, including civil and landscaping. Together we deliver sustainable urban environments that bring people and business together and help our community and natural environments thrive. This role requires high level expertise in land development feasibility, master planning, infrastructure project delivery, procurement, and leadership. Reporting to the Project Director, Urban Development, you will play a pivotal role in building high performing project teams and managing projects through to completion. The role will represent the SLA in community and industry forums and actively engage with stakeholder groups on projects to create communities that are vibrant, connected, inclusive, resilient and healthy urban places for people. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Positions classified as an Infrastructure Manager/Specialist require the occupant to hold: A degree or higher professional qualification in a related field such as Urban Planning, Development Management or Property Development and Law, and accreditation with a professional body (e.g., Institute) recognised within Australia, and A minimum of ten years relevant planning, infrastructure and/or project management experience, with significant planning and/or infrastructure knowledge through project management experience. Highly Desirable Extensive knowledge and experience of land development feasibility, master planning, infrastructure project delivery, program and project team management, high level procurement for design and civil, landscape or built form construction processes. General Construction Induction Card (White Card). Note: This position is available immediately for a period of up to six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position is in a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
