About the Austin Health Sterilizing Services Department The Austin Health Sterilizing Services Department (CSSD) engages in all aspects of decontamination, packaging, sterilizing, and storage of re-usable medical devices. Austin Health Sterilizing Services departments are located on two separate campuses. Austin Campus CSSD provides a service for 11 busy operating rooms, Endoscopy, Hospital wards, which include areas such as ICU, Emergency departments, and outpatient clinics. Repatriation Campus CSSD provides a service for 8 busy operating rooms, Endoscopy, wards as well as providing equipment to hospital wards and their outpatient clinics. About the role An exciting opportunity has become available for a Grade 3 or 4 Instrument Technician to join our team on an ongoing, full-time basis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing Reusable Medical Devices (RMD) in compliance with AS5369-2023 guidelines. You should also have up-to-date expertise in the Electronic Tracking System for Reusable Devices, ensuring all processes are managed efficiently and accurately. About you To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you: Certificate III or IV in Health Sterilization Minimum of 4 years' experience in Sterilizing Services in a hospital setting Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across all Austin Health teams Open and effective communication and engagement Ability to work in a team environment Knowledge and understanding of all Microsoft applications Proven ability to work independently Flexibility with rotating roster and night shifts Working at Austin Health Working at Austin Health means enjoying a strong sense of purpose, engaging in meaningful work every day.
