Permanent Position Full Time at 80 hours per fortnight including ADO Managers and Administrative Worker Grade 6 (HS6) + over award based on experience Hybrid Model - Melbourne location / Work From Home (as required) Staff Benefits The Department The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) department sits within the Clinical Information Systems sub-division and is a cornerstone of the hospital's digital ecosystem. It manages the operational performance, enhancement, and integration of the EMR and PAS. These systems are interconnected using the Rhapsody integration engine, supporting data flow across multiple platforms critical to clinical workflows. The department works closely with clinical and administrative areas to ensure systems align with optimal patient outcomes. The Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced Integration Specialist to drive the design, implementation, and support of interoperability solutions across Alfred Health’s EMR ecosystem. If you have deep expertise in Oracle Health’s Cerner Millennium Foreign System Interfaces, HL7 standards, Rhapsody, and API-based integration, this is your chance to make a significant impact in a dynamic healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain integration solutions between Oracle Health’s Cerner Millennium and third-party systems. Manage HL7 interfaces using Rhapsody, ensuring seamless clinical and administrative data exchange. Work on interface development, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing optimisation. Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, ensuring uptime, stability, and security. Collaborate with clinicians, analysts, and vendors to enhance interoperability and patient safety. Stay ahead of emerging FHIR, REST API, and CDA standards to support Alfred Health’s digital health strategy. What You’ll Bring Strong experience in Cerner Millennium Foreign System Interfaces (FSI), OpenView, CCL, and SQL. 5+ years of experience working with HL7 messaging, interface engines (preferably Rhapsody), and healthcare IT. Proficiency in REST APIs, FHIR, and Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a high-paced healthcare environment. Experience in interface management — design, testing, deployment, and documentation.
