The Opportunity: The National Account Manager – Inventory Surplus and Clearance will be responsible for maximizing the recovery value of surplus raw materials and finished goods across the SPC Global group. This pivotal role will be accountable for ensuring the cost burden of surplus raw materials and finished goods costs are minimised across SPC, Original Juice, Nature One Dairy, and Natural Ingredients. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly influence business performance by minimizing waste, optimizing resources, and creating value from surplus inventory. This role will provide an extremely valuable end-to-end understanding of the SPC global business and set the right candidate up for a variety of future opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Minimise Surplus Raw and Finished goods: Develop and expand a robust network of discounters, clearance houses, and third-party buyers for raw materials and by-products. Foster strong relationships and negotiate agreements with external partners to maximize recovery value for surplus inventory. Partner with the International business unit to provide them with the necessary information to utilize our global footprint to reduce surplus stock. Partner with the marketing and innovation team to ensure planned and unplanned excess materials relating to new products have a clear plan in place to avoid future costs. Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, demand, and production teams to identify current, likely and potential surplus raw materials and finished goods. Develop an appropriate plan for each scenario. Report to senior management on clearance activities and results. Process Improvement and Optimization: Lead a review of the end-to-end inventory management process, identifying and reporting process gaps which are leading to avoidable costs. Develop solutions and lead the implementation of these to proactively minimize future surplus inventory. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure process improvements. The successful candidate will have: Preferred but not essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma). Proven experience in sales, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements and delivering measurable results. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills, with experience establishing partnerships with clearance buyers and discounters. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and drive strategic decisions. Highly tenacious, persistent, and results-oriented, with a track record of overcoming obstacles to achieve goals. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities. Strong project management skills with a focus on execution and delivering results. Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to think creatively and proactively seek solutions.
