Investment Associate - Corporate Investments Join our team in Melbourne as an Investment Associate and contribute to the ongoing growth of the corporate private credit strategy. About the Role: As an Investment Associate in Corporate Investments, you will report to the Executive Director of Corporate Investments and play a crucial role in delivering debt transactions within Wingate Corporate Investments (WCI). WCI provides debt capital solutions to mid-sized companies in Australia and New Zealand. The loans provided by WCI allow for flexible and tailored debt facilities to companies seeking timely debt capital (typically for the purposes of growth, mergers, and acquisitions, working capital and loan warehousing). WCI targets borrowers with a track record of profitability, a sustainable competitive advantage, strong cash flow, and a high-quality management team. Investment opportunities are driven by our specialist Property and Corporate Investments origination and credit teams. About You: Tertiary qualified 3–6 years’ work experience including a background in private credit investing, investment banking, leveraged finance, commercial banking, M&A, or similar roles Strong technical skills, a genuine commercial understanding about what drives value in a business and a pragmatic approach to problem solving Transaction experience – specifically, execution / delivery of M&A transactions and/or debt financing along with an ability to cultivate a range of stakeholder relationships Maturity, high-energy, drive – a solution-orientated and highly organised individual who ‘rolls up sleeves,’ thriving in a fast-paced environment Analytical and curious mind with strong attention to detail and ability to drive results both individually and as a member of a team Effective communication skills with extensive experience in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Key Responsibilities: Investment evaluation: Assess and explore potential debt investment opportunities, including being a key contact for external parties. Transaction Execution: Drive and directly execute against a full range of workstreams within transaction situations. Team and Network: Building strong and deep relationships across professional networks and peers to assist in origination of new credit opportunities applicable to the WCI mandate and contribute to a collegial team environment.
