JS Careers is pleased to be partnering with a leading global investment bank renowned for delivering world-class advice and financial solutions to clients across industries and global markets. This role exists within their market leading Industrials team, which has regularly been one of the top coverage teams in the Australian market over a sustained period. You can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne. As an Investment Banking Associate; you will work on high-impact projects, collaborating closely with senior bankers and clients across a variety of sectors. You will gain exposure to mergers & acquisitions (M&A), defence mandates, capital raising/IPO advice, restructuring, and strategic advisory services. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile public and private markets transactions, develop your technical skills, and deepen your understanding of the sector in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Financial Modelling & Analysis: Build and maintain financial models for M&A transactions, defence mandates and valuation analysis. Industry Research & Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis on the sector, identifying key trends, market dynamics, and opportunities for clients. Transaction Support: Assist in the preparation of pitch books, client presentations, and transaction documentation. Client Interaction: Support senior bankers in client meetings and calls, contributing to discussions and providing insightful recommendations. Due Diligence & Deal Execution: Assist in the due diligence process, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of deals. Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior bankers, analysts, and associates to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously. Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree from a leading university with strong academic performance, preferably in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related fields. Experience: Previous experience in investment banking is highly desirable. Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (DCF, LBO, precedent transactions, etc.). Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, etc.). Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities. Highly motivated, results-driven, and proactive. Strong work ethic and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
