Investment Manager (Business Development) Millbrook Group is a specialist property credit fund manager with over 17 years track record in providing investors with attractive capital stable returns. Since 2017 we have advanced close to $1bn in loans and repaid our investors $650m. Overall Group FUM as at 30/12/2024 is ~$390m. The business is expanding with a focus on growing our retail offering via our Millbrook Credit Diversified Fund. We are looking for someone with business development experience to assist with this growth strategy with a particular focus on the retail financial adviser community. The Investment Manager (Business Development) will be charged with sourcing, meeting and networking with financial advisers and other investors to primarily increase funds under management for the Millbrook Credit Diversified Fund (retail investment offering). The role reports to the Head of Investments. DUTIES Marketing Millbrook investment funds to financial advisers and other potential introducers in face-to-face and group presentations to grow funds under management. Developing and building personal relationships with new financial advisers and investors and assisting them with product-related enquiries. Create business development strategies and maintain appropriate records of business development and marketing activities. Maintain and grow existing financial adviser and investor relationships. Attend investment seminars (as required) organised by financial advisers, dealer groups and industry associations with a view to promoting Millbrook’s products by way of delivering individual and group presentations. Some seminars may occasionally involve short-term interstate and overseas travel. Understand the need to meet financial advisers, our introducers, and investors in their offices and/or home. Organise and run occasional Millbrook promotional lunches for influential financial advisers. Work with the wider investment team to grow funds under management. QUALIFICATIONS Personal presentation is critical. The successful candidate needs to present as knowledgeable and professional in both appearance and conduct. Previous business development experience with an investment/managed fund is critical. Network of financial advisers and industry contacts is critical. The successful candidate will evidence an ability to logically argue the advantages of Millbrook’s products and some proven sales/marketing experience would be an advantage. Applicants need to possess a general understanding of financial products such as fixed interest investments and mortgage funds. Past work experience around financial planning and/or mortgage fund lending/investments would be advantageous. Relevant tertiary qualifications are preferable. The role will include the need to travel interstate on occasion.
