Investment Operations Analyst Department: Operations Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Sydney Description Betashares is seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to join the Operations team. We are seeking an individual with the relevant industry experience for the role of Investment Operations Analyst. The ETF Operations team is responsible for the day-to-day back to middle office activities of our ETFs and unlisted funds, including the oversight of service delivery by our service providers and vendors. In this role, you will work closely with other members of the team and report into the Operations Manager, Funds Administration. You will also have the opportunity to be a key contributor and provide input into the ongoing design and buildout of operational processes to ensure the continued high standard of delivery across our ETFs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside an experienced, collaborative, and high-performing team in our fast-growing business. You’ll play an integral role in bringing our strategy to life. Role Responsibilities Oversee and validate the daily NAV calculations of ETFs and other unlisted funds, including New Zealand funds. Assist with half-year and full-year financial statements of fund activities, and liaise with the auditors to resolve any queries. Review distribution calculations and tax lodgements provided by third-party vendors. Validate the accuracy of pricing inputs, including securities, cash, derivatives, and foreign exchange rates, and monitor discrepancies. Assist the team in mitigating risks associated with NAV discrepancies by performing thorough investigations into any anomalies. Perform comprehensive checks on the ETF portfolio to ensure it aligns with the index or benchmark and the fund’s investment objectives. Liaise with external custodians, administrators, and auditors to ensure accurate and efficient NAV calculation and reporting. Identify and recommend improvements in the NAV calculation and reporting processes to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency. Participate in the development of automation tools and systems to improve data management and NAV reporting procedures. Support ad-hoc projects and be available to respond to queries from portfolio management, Finance, and other BetaShares teams. Support trade operations and other operational tasks as required (trade support, security maintenance, corporate action instructions and management, confirmation and settlement issues, cash flow management, ETF creations and redemptions). Review Corporate Actions and impacts to the NAV. Document and maintain standard operating procedures. Skills & Experience Degree in a Finance or Commerce field (an accounting qualification CPA or CA will be highly regarded). Market and industry experience with 5+ years in asset management, custodian, or financial services. Familiarity with Australian financial market regulations and compliance requirements. Strong analytical thinking and quantitative skills. Required work schedule on an AM/PM rotational basis or as required. Flexibility supported to work remotely outside of ordinary hours. A strong team player who is committed to delivering quality output with a strong eye for detail. Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas and data analysis. Ability to establish priorities and focus on detailed information under stressful conditions. Ability to quickly develop an in-depth knowledge and adapt to change.
