Key Responsibilities & Duties Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults in vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems. Dismantle and salvage high-quality used parts from vehicles for resale. Conduct inspections and assessments on vehicles to determine the condition of parts and components. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups, brake pad replacements, wheel alignments, and filter changes to enhance vehicle functionality. Test parts such as alternators, starters, and batteries to ensure functionality. Assemble, install, and replace automotive parts as per customer requirements. Perform general mechanical maintenance and repairs on vehicles. Use diagnostic equipment and tools to assess vehicle conditions and troubleshoot issues. Ensure all dismantled parts meet quality control standards before being stocked or sold. Adhere to occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations and environmental guidelines for vehicle disposal. Assist in maintaining workshop tools and equipment for safe and efficient operations. Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency and productivity in dismantling and repairs of vehicles. Inspect, maintain, and repair essential vehicle systems, such as engines, transmissions, and braking systems, to ensure optimal performance and safety. Test and troubleshoot mechanical issues in vehicles, using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to identify and fix problems effectively. Qualifications & Experience Required Minimum Qualification: AQF Certificate III (Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology) + at least two years full-time experience OR AQF Certificate IV or Higher in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or a related field. Experience: Minimum one year of full-time work experience as a Motor Mechanic after certificate IV. Knowledge of different vehicle makes and models is a plus.
