Job Description

Paterson & Cooke Australia is seeking a driven Junior Draftsperson to join our leading engineering consulting firm in WA to obtain excellent industry exposure and specialist experience. The successful candidate will be part of our drawing office's team and will be involved in a multitude of engineering projects for slurry and water pipeline transportation systems, backfill plants and slurry dewatering. Main Duties Production of a variety of drawings/MTO/lists as well as 2D and 3D models across the following disciplines: mechanical, process, piping, civil, and structural, under regular supervision from their supervisors Development of drawings/models from engineers' sketches with regular input Undertake document control activities Assist with drawing office related PM tasks on projects Adhere to P&C + client policies, standards and guidelines Assist with clash detection of design models against as-built models, or other consultants’/clients’ design models Assist with CAD coordination between internal departments Ensure all activities performed at work are carried out in compliance with common Workplace/Occupational Health & Safety protocols, including Company policies, and all relevant occupational health and safety laws and regulations Minimum Requirements & Competencies Work Authorisation: Australia (Required). Formal training and/or qualification in Drafting, consistent with a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent) 1+ Years work experience in mechanical/pipeline drafting (including 2D and 3D modelling for slurry, water, waste, mineral processing and/or oil & gas) Experience working with one or more of the following packages: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenPlant Foundational to Intermediate computer literacy skills, including with MS Office package Foundational to Intermediate skills in one or more CAD software packages covering the entire workflow from setup and 2D/3D modelling to drawing/model production Foundational to Intermediate written/verbal communication skills Foundational to Intermediate attention to detail/organisational skills Key Professional Attributes Acts with integrity and honesty Takes initiative and is self-motivated Communicates openly and respectfully Able to work well under pressure Good team player who can work well with others Committed to technical excellence and continuous learning Adequately follows instructions and guidelines Other Requirements Ability and willingness to travel when required Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when required Familiarity with the Australian Occupational Health & Safety regulations framework Willingness to comply with government mandated health directives, including vaccinations In return Paterson & Cooke Australia offers a competitive annual salary for the position.
