The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Kinship Care Worker to join the Berri Office on a part-time ongoing basis. The role is responsible for: Providing brief interventions as required and evaluating effectiveness of services provided. Identifying constraints/barriers to family effectiveness, particular needs and interests in relation to health, well-being and parenting as well as resources to assist the family. Supporting, training and educating Kinship Carers in practical day to day care. Establishing interpersonal relationships that will enable effective communication and identifying and maintaining links with relevant services. About You We are looking for a confident individual with knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and kinship systems and issues that impact on policy development and service delivery. You will have knowledge and understanding of parenting models and family dynamics as well as an understanding of young people who have experienced trauma and/or abuse and neglect and impact of this on their development.
