Job Description
We have a welcoming and inclusive primary school located in Oxfordshire, committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for their pupils. We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated teams and support the learning and development of our youngest learners in Years 1 and 2. This begins March 2025. Duties as a Teaching Assistant: Support the teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and activities. Work with individuals and small groups to provide targeted support in literacy and numeracy. Assist in preparing classroom resources and maintaining a stimulating learning environment. Help to manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Provide emotional and social support to pupils, fostering confidence and independence. Supervise children during break times, lunchtimes, and on school trips. Support children with additional learning needs, ensuring they receive appropriate help. Ideal Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (desirable but not essential). A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards one). A patient, compassionate, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young children. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
