SC6 A commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others. This position requires attendance Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:36pm, however a part-time work schedule is negotiable. Responsibilities The Laboratory Technician AssistantThe major tasks, accountabilities and responsibilities associated with the position are: General Responsible for the management and efficient operation of the science laboratory area. Coordinate use of all science materials around the school. Keep a record of classroom experiments. Participate in school activities as directed. Teacher and student support Work closely with Science Domain Leader and provide technical support to all science staff. Review and sign risk assessments written by teachers and provide appropriate control measures. Assist in writing new risk assessments as required. Support science teachers to design and trial new science experiments. Assist in classroom activities and provide feedback for improvements. Equipment Perform calibration checks and fix minor equipment issues. Liaison Liaise with sales representatives and other schools for resource sharing. OHS Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed for safety in the science rooms. Keep hard copies of all risk assessments. Conduct regular safety inspections of the science lab.
