Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Portsmith, QLD. This full-time, permanent position involves assisting management in maintaining SGS’s capability to analyze soil, water, and air, conducting routine analyses, and delivering quality and timely laboratory results. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Undertake routine preparations for soil and water samples. Understand general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements. Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean to avoid contamination and protect the company’s assets. Carry out scheduled instrument calibration and maintenance in accordance with the written procedures. Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on-the-job training to support improvement. Ensure that safety equipment is used where necessary, used correctly and used at all times. Report immediately on any unsafe work condition or equipment to the supervisor. Perform other duties as directed by the section supervisor. Qualifications Appropriate tertiary qualification, TAFE certificates minimum. Experience in general laboratory environment preferred.
