Job Description

About the role: Plan and lead the negotiation of land access and property related agreements with landholders and their representatives relating to Generation and Development activities in compliance with organisational guidelines, as well as fulfilling statutory compliance obligations. Key responsibilities include: Develop and deliver successful land access strategies and plans in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders and contractors. Take a lead role in land access issues management and provide subject matter expertise and capability regarding the negotiation of agreements to gain and maintain access to renewable energy resources and land. Provide due diligence support to the project and strategic advice on key landholder of contract issues and risks relating to existing and proposed land access requirements and agreements for Development & Construction projects. Manage relationships and agreements with landholders whom the business holds existing lease agreements with, in addition to managing land management issues that may arise. Coordinate implementation of scopes of work delivered by Contractors, in addition to professionally managing related budgets and costs. Engage with landholders and their representatives directly during negotiations, with the aim of building sustainable and effective relationships. Instruct external contractors in the delivery of this role’s scope, including Land Access consultants, Valuation Service providers, Surveyors and Town Planners. What will you bring? Significant experience in negotiation and delivery of property related agreements, including within complex environments. Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy, resources/ mining or heavy industry sectors. Proven strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, and the ability to influence without authority. Demonstrated experience in developing strategies and plans to gain and maintain access to renewable energy resources and land. Sound understanding of rural industries and practices. Excellent business acumen, with demonstrated experience in developing strategies and recommendations for commercial consideration and compensation for land access to support activities and delivering land access within pre-approved limits.
